With the backing of well established schools in all relevant areas (engineering, medicine, nursing, healthcare professions, management), the Center for Healthcare Quality, the University Hospitals and Clinics, plus one of the most extensive regional networks of hospitals and healthcare providers in the nation, the Center of Healthcare Systems Engineering (CHSE) is a multi-disciplinary center with an aim to satisfy the urgent need to apply the principles of engineering, science, management, and technology to healthcare improvement, by:
Installing systems-thinking in the domain of healthcare systems improvement,
Coordinating and conducting activities in research and outreach to investigate, develop and adopt systematic approaches in the analysis, design and continuous improvement of healthcare systems,
Educating current and future health care, engineering, and management students, researchers and professionals in the science and practices of healthcare systems engineering for health care delivery.
